Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a virtual reality experience in which the game tasks a player with disarming explosive devices with the assistance of other players, who are not within virtual reality, as they read a manual containing instructions. Each explosive device contains two sides, with six panels on each side. Each panel has its own distinct puzzle to solve, and the only way to know which wire to snip, which button to press, or which switch to flip is by communicating with your partner reading the manual. This virtual reality environment requires patience, teamwork, and grit; the ideal skills to instill into your employees.
Neither the group with the manual nor the "defuser" can look at each other's material
The defuser can only look at the explosive device within VR, while the manual users, or the 'experts' as they are dubbed, can only look at the manual. This game requires significant communication between members in order to get anything solved, let alone defuse the entire device. The "defuser" must accurately describe exactly what they are seeing, while the "experts" have to listen intently while consolidating the information that is being relayed to them, to then properly give the "defuser" accurate instructions.
What Makes this the Perfect Team Building Exercise?
The inherent novelty of virtual reality booths makes it a memorable experience. When trying new things with others, it naturally forms connections and bonds. VR can facilitate this. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes in particular, not only will most likely be an experience your employees have never tried before - but it's an incredibly designed experience. It's challenging and requires attention, but easy enough to understand and get good at quickly. It's also the perfect length of time. The experience can be adjusted so that there are specific time limits. Keep the defuse time short and make the explosive devices easier to solve, or put the devices on its hardest setting, and give your employees ample time to work together to solve it.
