We know that in 2020 you will have new resolutions, new goals, and perhaps new motivation to achieve that which fell by the wayside last year. The real question is; what will we do differently this year than last year in order to achieve more of what we want? There are proven methods to goal setting and achievement, let’s learn more about them and make things happen this year!
What Happens to our Resolutions?
Many people start off their New Year’s off with resolutions, unfortunately, data, including that from Nielsen Analytics, in 2015, shows something else:

46 percent longer than six months!
14 percent of people over 50 actually achieve their resolution!
Our Plan for Success in Achieving our Goals
As busy Event Planners, business owners, or employees, we must balance our work goals with the goals we have related to our work, family and friends. This challenge was addressed in a study by psychologist Gail Matthews. It found when people wrote down their goals, they were 33% more successful in achieving them than those who formulated outcomes in their heads.
A goal setting practice that seems to produce better than average results is to not only write down each goal but to make it S,M.A.R.T
When we make our goals S.M.A.R.T, they are…..
Specific - in that they define the who, what, when and where of our goal
Measurable - so we can track our progress
Attainable - in that, they are within our ability
Realistic - for us to achieve them within a specific timeframe
Make a commitment to yourself to create some 2020 goals NOW!
